CRDB BANK ORGANISED A MARATHON ON SUNDAY AUG 8th 2024. THE STARTING POINT WAS AT THE FAMOUS STADIUM CALLED “ INTWARI STADIUM”. TDC BURUNDI united with CRDB BANK in this event, more than 1,500 people came to see what exactly transpired in the event. This formed a great bond throughout the marathon as they could interact differently compared to the office interconnection.

This event had numerous entertainment  for the relaxation of the athletes along with meals aside. Furthermore, a certain quantity of business was introduced to these leaders after the marathon, this was an advocate representing the hard work they have accomplished through the support from CRDB BANK and numerous associations.

PARTNERSHIP

The CEO OF TDC BURUNDI  “VAN HELWIN”, cooperated with the Minister of EAC sports, Chairman of CRDB BANK and the Mayor of the city “ JIMMY HATUNGAIMANA”.  This was a resounding success, calling out the public  in the participation of the marathon, Another round of history was made after raising a total number of [SH112 million]. 1,500 participants came from countless countries and raised funds as a family tree. East African countries are commonly known for floods incidents at the beginning of the year.

On the 8th july 2024,over 239,000 people  have been displaced and 29 killed across Burundi out of the rise in EL-NINO rains. This caused the  lake Tanganyika to rise over 770 meters causing flooding to the surrounding communities. CRDB BANK took the initiative to raise funds that will be used to support the victims of the floods that  affected the “LAKE TANGANYIKA” earlier this year.
